PRP Therapy
Platelet Rich Plasma
Platelet rich Plasma is the most recent method in the armamentarium of plastic and cosmetic surgeons. It simply involves taking persons own blood, separating white and red blood cells from it, adding the platelet derived growth factor activating compounds to it and then injecting this PLATELET RICH PLASMA into tissues for various rejuvenating purposes. The healing and rejuvenating ability of the PRP is useful in following conditions so far:
Hair loss:
In male patterned baldness and also in females with thinning hair, the stem cells and growth factors derived from PRP are quite beneficial in not only reducing the hair loss but also in the re-growth of the lost hair.
Melasma and Pigmentary Disorders:
Dark pigmented patches especially on face are quite insightly. They are quite common in women during and after pregnancy, in men and women exposed to excessive sunlight and some times for no apparent reason these patches of melasma appear. These patches respond really well and fade away with PRP Therapy with or without MICRO-NEEDLING
Scar Therapy:
Old and and new scars that may be due to trauma, surgery, burn and especially older scarred grafts over period develop into quite conspicuous and unsightly marks. Often they become a reason for serious cosmetic concern and sometimes psychological concerns too. These scars can be made much less conspicuous by appropriately intervalled PRP Therapy. Skin grafts have an ability to pigment and become hard. Both these issues can be addressed by serial PRP Therapy compounded with microneedling and subcission techniques.
